Role overview

Introduction to the role:
Reporting to the HR Manager, you will provide full HR administration support for approximately 1100 people. As an HR Assistant you will be responsible for processing new starters, leavers and movers in the business and act as a main point of contact for general HR queries, ensuring the prompt resolution of queries and requests. Introduction to the team:
You will be part of a wider HR & Development team that services the firm across areas such as employee relations, early careers, talent acquisition, learning & development, HR systems, diversity & inclusion, talent & development and reward. Led by Chief People Officer, Carolyn Morgan, the team is currently made up of 30 people, who strive to deliver a seamless service to all Partners and employees.

Key responsibilities:

Being the first point of contact for all HR queries Preparing offers of employment and contracts for new starters and variations (i.e. changes in employment details) for existing employees Undertaking pre-employment checks as part of the new starter process and preparations for the new starter induction Full administration of the leaver process, to include inputting on the system, liaising with the leaver and the team and advising the firm accordingly Advising payroll of monthly changes, new starters and leavers and any deductions required from salary Accurate inputting of data on the HR system, such as new starters, leavers, variations, holidays, absence and appraisal information Working with colleagues to identify patterns of sickness and report to the HR Advisors/Managers regarding matters of concern Completing all maternity/paternity administration and acting as a point of contact for employees on maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental leave Checking holiday calculations and advising colleagues on holiday rules Sending exit surveys and reporting the results to managers Involvement in recruitment activity such as placing adverts, reviewing CVs and setting up interviews Assisting with the induction process ad delivering induction presentations Producing regular and ad hoc reports from the HR system Arranging payment of invoices Covering administration work of colleagues in their absence Involvement in ad-hoc HR projects as required

What are we looking for:

Important criteria:Previous administration experience Ability to operate in a busy environment Competence in English, Maths and all Microsoft IT software Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise, multi-task and ensure deadlines are met Aptitude to deal with people at all levels
