Job Overview
We're recruiting a HR Assistant to join our small and supportive HR team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone studying (or planning to study) CIPD, who wants hands-on HR experience alongside professional training. The role requires commitment to a CIPD qualification, which may include evening college attendance.
You'll support the delivery of a high-quality HR service across recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, learning and development, and employee engagement. As you develop, you'll gain exposure to employee relations and HR advisory work.
We're looking for a strong team player who is enthusiastic, discreet, and resilient, with the confidence to handle sensitive situations calmly and professionally. Absolute confidentiality, strong communication and organisation skills and a genuine interest in HR are essential.
Duties
Providing high-quality HR administrative support.
Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems.
Supporting recruitment campaigns and onboarding processes.
Assisting with payroll inputs.
Coordinating learning, development and compliance activity.
Producing HR reports, metrics and contributing to process improvement.
Supporting sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
Working enthusiastically and collaboratively within a team committed to continuous improvement.
Experience
Genuine interest in developing a career in HR.
A strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to contribute to and support a small, dynamic HR team.
Strong administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
Professional, emotionally intelligent and able to remain calm and resilient when dealing with challenging situations.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Comfortable handling confidential information with absolute integrity.
A proactive, flexible and positive approach to work.
Excellent organisational and planning skills to manage your time and to meet deadlines and objectives.
Familiarity and comfort with using cloud based software, digital platforms and apps for communication, data input, and collaboration to ensure HR processes can be confidently and competently supported.
Ability to commit time to a professional CIPD qualification. (attendance may be required outside of working hours).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 27,000.00-28,000.00 per year
