Hr Consultant

St. Austell, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

What is your absolute passion? Which parts of HR do you love, and which could you happily leave behind (mostly, of course!)? Now, imagine walking into a role with full autonomy to tailor your role around your passion - exciting huh?!

What makes this so special is that we are in a distinctive position because we don't know who we are looking for until we find you! What we DO know above all is that we want you to love your job because when you LOVE your job, you DO a great job!

Our story began in 2018 when our founder, Jen Webb, saw just how much independent automotive businesses needed down-to-earth, specialist, yet unique HR support. Starting out by helping a single garage owner, the practical advice, and reputation spread quickly. Six years on and we are now so very proud to be the most recommended HR consultancy dedicated to UK's aftermarket - with over 200 clients. Although we are based in Cornwall, we work with clients throughout the UK, with our mission being to empower employers and boost businesses through authentic and effective HR advice. We are growing, and are looking for our next unique consultant.

Your average day

Helping our clients with everyday HR challenges: disciplinaries, absence management, recruitment, audits, employee surveys, and navigating tricky workplace situations.

Providing empathetic and straightforward advice, along with the paperwork in order to keep the business running smoothly and legally compliant.

You will balance informal approaches with formal processes when the situation requires it - you'll know when to keep things simple and when to take a more structured approach.

Offering a fresh perspective to clients when things get tough, helping them to see the bigger picture.

Creating useful resources for our client base.

What we want you to bring

A strong confidence in managing disciplinary and absence cases (we do not take part in any hearings, purely advise on the process and provide questions), and the full recruitment process.

You will be a clear and considerate communicator who is able to build strong relationships with our clients.

Take a careful and responsible approach to your own work.

You must have an interest in learning about and working within the very unique dynamics of the automotive aftermarket.

Based in Cornwall or the South West - we meet in person regularly, but you will mostly work from home however, you must be available to attend meetings in Cornwall at relatively short notice (minimum of 48 or 72 hours notice will always be given).

Your whole self! We want your personality, not just your skills and knowledge.

This role will only stand out to you if you are looking for something less rigid than 'ordinary HR',

and you want the chance to bring your individuality, and your whole self to a role. If this is you, then we would love to hear from you.
