HR Consultant - Aylesbury - 12-month contract

Pertemps Aylesbury is currently recruiting for a HR Consultant for a 12-month contract starting immediately for Manufacturing client.

Hours: 9am-5pm

Salary: \xc2\xa365,000 - \xc2\xa370,000 (DOE)

The role of the HR consultant consists of 3 main areas:

  • Guide and support the newly promoted HR UK team lead to the level of HR manager
  • Assist the HR UK team with any administrative and more complicated HR matters
  • Take the lead role in European and UK HR projects
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The HR consultant will take the lead role in tendering of changes that are foreseen in UK (e.g. change of payroll provider to optimise automation, lead role in drafting new evaluation forms for all European entities as well as roll-out and implementation thereof, looking into an affordable HR management system for all European entities).
  • Since taking up the new role requires freeing up time out of the HR generalist role, the temporary HR consultant UK, will need to assist with administrative tasks, whilst the end-responsibility of those tasks will be diverted to the UK HR team lead.
  • When presented with more complex or new situations, the temporary HR consultant will be required to step in - or, if need be, take over - for the role as linking ping and lead, whilst always working closely together with the UK HR team lead to ensure the build-up of new knowledge and competencies.
  • Managing a small team (payroll + reception) taking up end responsibility, the need for quick analytical thinking when presented with new and / or complex situations, policy setting and writing, balancing between European and UK requirements.
Qualification and Requirements:
  • Master degree in law, Human resources or industrial psychology or equivalent by experience
  • Highest level of CIPD qualifications or equivalent by experience
  • Previous experience in a busy generalist in-house HR role (preferably working in an international context)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including excellent excel skills
  • Knowledge of UK social / employment legislation (including right to work checks and TUPE legislation), migration law, healthy reflexes in tax law, contract law and privacy / GDPR
