Oakham School is seeking an organised, proactive, and approachable HR Coordinator to join our busy and friendly HR team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting staff across the School by delivering high-quality HR services with a particular focus on recruitment, onboarding, and employee administration.
Reporting to the HR Advisor, the post holder will act as the first point of contact for a range of departments, providing day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and staff. You will oversee recruitment campaigns from start to finish, ensure safer recruitment checks are completed, and help to embed new colleagues through a smooth and professional onboarding process.
The successful candidate will be a strong administrator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A positive and collaborative approach, as well as a genuine interest in supporting people, are essential. Previous experience in a school or education setting is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide HR support to allocated departments, escalating complex issues as needed.
Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes.
Maintain accurate personnel records and support the Single Central Register (SCR).
Ensure compliance with HR systems (iTrent and iSAMS) and assist with audits and reporting.
Contribute to lifecycle HR processes including probation, leavers, and staff wellbeing initiatives.
