The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced HR Coordinator to join our HR team, which is based only a 5-minute walk from East Worthing railway station.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the successful applicant will be involved in the full life cycle of our people's journey with the company. They will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our HR management systems and the general administrative duties of an HR department.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for HR and a drive to improve the services offered to our people. They should be happy to deal with the more routine activities whilst also being involved in some exciting new projects such as fully digitalising the HR function, introducing employee work groups, benchmarking, policy writing, etc.
This role would suit an individual who is extremely IT literate, CIPD qualified, has extensive experience of working in an HR environment, and is now looking to take on additional duties and contribute to the continuous improvements of our HR processes and initiatives.
Main duties and responsibilities
Provide confidential administrative and professional support to the HR Manager.
Deputise for HR Manager at routine low-risk disciplinary and grievance meetings.
Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our HR management systems, updating and developing functions, acting as the first point of contact for queries, training all staff, etc.
Coordinate recruitment campaigns, including advertising, arranging and attending interviews, sending response emails, drawing up offers, providing recruitment metrics, etc.
Full facilitation of HR-related meetings, eg booking facilities, sending invites, preparing accurate and timely notes, following up on action points, etc.
Liaise with schools and colleges to create work experience opportunities.
Assist with reviewing and updating policies, procedures, processes, etc.
Arrange and book training sessions to meet company and departmental needs.
The Person
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:-
CIPD Level 5 qualification OR extensive knowledge gained from working in a similar role within an HR environment.
Good knowledge and understanding of UK law, theory, and HR best practice.
Proficient understanding and extensive use of HR management systems.
Excellent understanding of GDPR and how it affects the work of an HR Department.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritise a high volume of work and a wide range of tasks.
Able to work autonomously, and comfortable with rapid change, as well as working as part of a wider team.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications, Abode, and other relevant software packages.
The ability to learn/absorb knowledge quickly and retain information.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing workloads.
Dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information.
