The HR Generalist will play a critical role in supporting the HR Team by ensuring that all business needs are met across the Scolmore Group. You will be the first point of contact in relation to holidays and sickness, and employee performance and will support recruitment and selection and the onboarding process. You will also be responsible for liaising with both managers and employees on all ER-related matters ensuring the advice is given consistently and in line with Company Policy.
Please note that this role is on site at the Tamworth Head office
Main Duties
To respond to general queries from managers and employees, signposting them to the appropriate policy and procedure
Review and update job descriptions with Line Managers
Working in conjunction with the HR & Payroll Administrator to administer and coordinate the new starter/onboarding process
Administer and coordinate the leaver's process, including conducting exit interviews
Providing advice and guidance on employee relations issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, sickness absence management including OHA referrals, investigation meetings etc
Working with the HR Manager to monitor and review all HR policies and procedures
Working with the HR Administrators to ensure that all personnel information is maintained and kept up to date
Working with the HR Administrators to ensure that the HR System is maintained accurately
To handle all family-friendly queries and cases
To assist as and when required with providing information to and liaising with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure staff are paid correctly and on time
Ensure the casework tracker is kept up to date to maintain accurate reporting to the Board of Directors
Support the Warehouse with general HR queries
Support the Legal & Compliance Team with Policies, the LMS, and Health, and Safety, where applicable
Drive continuous improvement within the HR team
Essential Experience
At least 3 years working as an HR Generalist/HR Advisor
Level 5 CIPD
Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
Ability to review and update Company policies
Practical and logical - able to offer solutions to key stakeholders
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships
