Role:
To provide comprehensive support to SLX Limited across all areas of Human Resources, maintaining high levels of confidentiality at all times. The role acts as a key liaison between management and employees, offering both strategic and administrative HR support. It is a varied and engaging position, working collaboratively with SLX's management teams to deliver an effective HR service that establishes, maintains, and enhances people management practices while ensuring alignment with company policies, ethical standards, and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with employment law and stay up to date with all proposed changes with the employment rights bill.
Manage internal and external job advertisements on behalf of line managers, ensuring the appropriate recruitment authorisation process is followed throughout
Coordinate and arrange interviews, including liaising with relevant managers, scheduling interviews, booking rooms, inviting candidates, and issuing rejection letters.
Prepare contract packs and offer letters for successful candidates
Conduct reference checks for new employees and provide employment references for leavers.
Deliver inductions for all new employees, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience and compliance with health & safety.
Setting up and maintaining HR records for all new employees.
Work with Peninsula our external HR business consultancy, to resolve a variety of staff issues - e.g. disciplinary, grievance, termination of employment, settlement agreements etc.
Provide advice and support for grievance, investigatory and disciplinary meetings.
Assist managers on the terms and conditions of employment
Assist managers with issues relating to sickness absence in line with the absence policy.
Organise and follow-up on appropriate employee audiometry, spirometry and occupational health checks.
Ensure the HR policies and procedures are up to date and adhered to within the Company.
To provide advice, guidance and support to employees on matters relating to their employment.
Maintaining records of expiring probationary periods, following up with managers and writing to employees confirming/extending probationary period as appropriate.
Management and updating of Cintra software, our outsourced payroll provider for monthly payroll administration of employee salary changes, overtime, starters and leavers etc.
Management of BrightHR, our HR software which manages all employee data, absence, holidays etc.
Preparation of employee letters confirming changes to terms and conditions.
Administration of DBS checks.
Preparation of ad hoc paperwork for the HR Department including references/mortgage requests etc.
Organise and follow up with H&S Risk Assessments, DSE Training and any relevant HR health & safety requirements.
Maintain the Accident/Incident log for Health & Safety review and produce accident data as required.
Maintain the Training Matrix for employee's skill set and certification
Recruitment and management of Apprentices.
Skills:
CIPD Qualifiation Level 5 or equivalent experieince
3+ years experieince in an HR generalist role
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organisational skills with an attendtion to details and accuracy
Computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office
