Overview



The Prima Group, are a group of three renowned Cornish Food producers, Prima Bakeries, Cornish Premier Pasties and Furniss of Cornwall, manufacturing traditional Cornish Fair for businesses and consumers across Cornwall and beyond. As part of our continued expansion, we're recruiting a HR Manager to design and implement improved HR systems.

With around 200 staff across sites in Redruth, Pool and St Columb, this is a key role for an experienced

HR

professional who can think strategically and act operationally to drive culture, change and innovation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities



As HR Manager, you'll work closely with the directors to shape business strategies. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about putting people first and driving a positive workplace culture. You will:

Lead on all aspects of people and culture strategy Support recruitment, selection and retention processes Develop initiatives for team engagement, training and development Enhance, oversee and maintain HR policies and procedures Deliver leadership coaching on employee relations, compliance and performance management Drive the performance management process, identifying learning needs Generate and analyse HR reports to understand and influence employee behaviour Support the senior management team on HR matters
The role will require strategic oversight across several key functions, including:

Recruitment



Develop strategies to attract high-quality candidates Regularly review job descriptions and adverts to keep them fresh and relevant Expand advertising through social media and alternative platforms Build relationships with recruitment partners and explore new talent channels Track recruitment costs by channel to ensure value for money Explore apprenticeships and available recruitment grants

Performance Management



Evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and developing improvement plans

Training & Development



Work with managers to ensure compliance with existing procedures Coach and support the senior management team Improve onboarding and induction to boost retention, including self-service elements and buddy schemes Promote personal development and employee wellbeing Hold regular check-ins with managers Design and deliver in-house training where possible

Retention



Keep internal communication fresh and relevant Help define a positive workplace culture Understand what motivates our people-why they join, stay and what benefits matter most Lead and evolve the staff appraisal process

Employee Relations



Address employee concerns and resolve workplace disputes constructively Foster a positive, inclusive work environment Develop strategies to boost morale and engagement across teams

Discipline & Attendance



Develop clear attendance and sickness policies Monitor employee absence

Legal



Keep updated on employment law changes and legal compliance Deliver manager briefings on legal changes

External Agencies



Build strong relationships with external partners and service providers Liaise with external health & safety providers to ensure compliance and best practice

Systems, Procedures and Policies



Develop and consolidate HR processes across the Group Maintain and communicate HR policies and documentation

Personal Specification Essential



Extensive, demonstratable experience in a senior HR role Strong writing and communication skills Excellent IT skiIIs Skilled in driving change and implementing effective processes Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure Full UK driving licence

Desirable



o CIPD Level 5 Qualification or above

Further Information



Reporting to: The Group Board of Directors

Based: Office-based role across our three sites as needed with a minimum of one day per week at each site. Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday although Part-Time will be considered for the right candidate.

Salary: 40,000 - 50,000, depending on experience

Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks per year (including Bank Holidays)

Employee Owned Business: annual employee ownership bonus after 12 months of service
