The HR Officer will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This includes recruitment, employee relations, training coordination, performance management, and compliance with employment legislation. The ideal candidate will be approachable, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the recruitment process: job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and onboarding.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases (attendance, leave, performance, etc.).
Coordinate training and development programs for factory and office staff.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
Support line managers in managing employee performance and conduct.
Handle day-to-day employee relations issues and escalate when necessary.
Prepare HR reports and metrics as required by management.
Administer HR documentation such as contracts, policies, and procedures.
Support health & safety initiatives in partnership with the H&S team.
Participate in HR projects such as employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an HR Officer, HR Assistant, or similar role.
CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above) is preferred.
Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Good organisational and time management abilities.
Proficient in MS Office and HR information systems (HRIS).
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is an advantage.
