Key Responsibilities

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS



To provide first line generalist HR advice and support on all employee relations matters including terms and conditions of employment, HR policies and procedures, with a view to resolving matters on advice. (Liaison with legal teams to ensure compliance)

To build an effective working relationship with team members at all levels, providing advice and guidance on HR related issues to support understanding of HR policies and procedures and ensure effective communication of good HR practice.

To coach managers/leaders to help develop their people management skills as required role modelling The Solina Way.

responsibility for the implementation of all HR policies and procedures ensuring that all HR issues are dealt with within the timescales set out in the procedures.

Support and advise on disciplinary, grievance, absence, and performance management processes in line with company policies and employment law.

liaison with departments to ensure that all HR paperwork is completed and returned, and provide advice on processes as required.

responsibility for arranging and attending informal/formal meetings and hearings Prepare letters, meeting notes, and documentation for HR casework.

provide HR and admin support to internal investigating officers in the management of casework; specifically, investigations into conduct, capability and grievance matters

provide advice and guidance on occupational health referrals, absence management issues and return to work cases to managers

in liaison with the UK Head of HR, provide advice and guidance on job design, recruitment, on-boarding processes, advising on best practice, SUK procedures and appropriate legislation.

Undertake projects which will support the Solina Blue Chips and improve the effectiveness of HR.


ADMINISTRATION & PAYROLL



Collate and check payroll data (hours, overtime, shift premiums, absence, new starters/leavers).

Liaise with Payroll and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely monthly submissions.

Maintain HR systems such as T&A,HRM system and Pulse. Personnel files management in line with GDPR.

Produce HR reports (headcount, absence, turnover, training stats) for HR Manager and leadership team.

To ensure effective monitoring of sickness/retention trends and remedial action in accordance with the Company's policy and to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management.

Administer employee benefits (pension, life assurance, EAP, staff discounts, long-service awards).

Support HR Manager with both HR related internal and external audits.


RECRUITMENT AND ONBOARDING



Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for site-based and operational roles (advertising, screening, interview scheduling, offers).

Liaise with recruitment agencies and maintain preferred supplier relationships.

Deliver an engaging onboarding and induction experience for all new starters, including right-to-work checks and pre-employment screening.

Support workforce planning and seasonal recruitment activity


COMMUNICATION



To support the development of strong communication and feedback channels with all teams and through a variety of mechanisms to support employee engagement.

Support communication of benefit schemes and engagement initiatives.

Support HR Manager in Bi Yearly Employee Engagement Survey from survey launch to results to action planning to drive improvement.

Proactive management of the internal communication and information on the Company noticeboards, screen savers, reward schemes etc

Responsibility for the Works Committee meetings and other engagement or project groups in the business (schedule meetings, minute taking and managing the notes)


TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT



Support delivery of the site training plan in partnership with HR Manager and departmental trainers.

Support Training Co Ordinator and managers in maintaining employee training matrix and compliance records (e.g. Food Safety, HACCP, Health & Safety, Allergen Awareness, FLT).

Schedule internal and external training sessions, ensuring completion tracking and feedback.

Assist with apprenticeship programmes and learning initiatives.

Identify training needs through appraisal and performance reviews

Support HR Manager and Managers though performance cycle incorporating objective setting, IDPs and talent management initiatives.


HEALTH&SAFETY



Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations

Support with the administration of H&S management systems (accidents log, 1st Aiders, Risk assessments trackers, H&S actions log)

Maintain a safe working environment at all times


Candidate Profile



HR Generalist skills and knowledge, in FMCG Manufacturing environment (preferably food related)



CIPD Qualified



Proven numerical/mathematical ability



Working in a busy environment with tasks that require a short turnaround



In-depth knowledge of current and emerging Employment Law



Ability to handle complex employee relations matters



Effective coaching and facilitation skills



Ability to interpret and communicate complex information effectively



Ability to prioritise and organise workload in a busy environment



Able to build credible relationships across the business



Attention to detail, specifically around legal notes; reports; letters; and data entry



Continuous improvement knowledge preferable
