Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury's to name a few. Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.


We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented HR and Payroll Administrator to join our People team and support the full employee lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on accurate and timely payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:



Process monthly payroll using internal systems and in collaboration with external providers Ensure accurate calculation of pay, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.) Manage payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain and update payroll records in compliance with HMRC and GDPR requirements Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee records, including contracts, right-to-work documentation, and holiday records Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including issuing contracts, induction scheduling, and exit interviews Assist with absence management and employee data reporting Coordinate HR documentation, letters, and communications Assist with weekly recruiment hires



What we're looking for:



Proven experience in a similar HR and/or payroll administration role, ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environment Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practices High attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management skills Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with HRIS and payroll software preferred Discreet, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive information with integrity CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
