About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven HR & Recruitment Assistant to join our People team.
This role reports directly to the Head of HR and is ideal for someone who already has hands-on HR experience and wants to grow as a true HR generalist. You should be calm under pressure, able to prioritise well, and someone who genuinely enjoys making HR operations run smoothly.
You will manage the HR inbox, support recruitment and onboarding, maintain accurate employee data, assist with payroll and employee relations administration, and help improve our processes. We are not looking for fancy qualifications or degrees, just someone with solid HR experience, common sense, and a willingness to think ahead.
This is a full-time hybrid role, with travel expected across our 10 London studios (around 3 days in studios and 2 days working from home).

Key Responsibilities
1. Generalist HR SupportAct as the first point of contact for managers and employees, handling a range of HR queries with empathy and accuracy.
Manage and prioritise the shared HR inbox, ensuring all queries are actioned or escalated appropriately.
Support employee relations cases such as sickness, conduct, or probation by drafting letters, taking notes, and keeping accurate records.
Track and monitor probation reviews, visa expiry dates, and contract changes, liaising with managers to ensure timely actions.
Produce and issue employment correspondence including offer letters, contract variations, probation outcomes, and exit letters.
Support with policy maintenance, HR documentation, and compliance checks.
Provide general HR administration support such as filing and maintaining employee personnel records.
2. Recruitment and OnboardingSupport end-to-end recruitment by posting job adverts, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and communicating with hiring managers.
Prepare offer letters, ensuring all right-to-work checks are completed.
Act as the main contact for new starters, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience from offer to first day.
Manage the applicant tracking system (PeopleHR or similar), keeping recruitment data current and accurate.
Maintain recruitment trackers and monitor candidate progress across stages.
3. HR Systems and Payroll SupportMaintain accurate employee data on the HR system, ensuring all changes are updated promptly.
Generate HR metrics and reports for the Head of HR
Support payroll by ensuring new starter, leaver, and change information is submitted accurately and on time.
Liaise with Finance to resolve pay-related queries and audit discrepancies.
Assist with creating and improving HR system workflows and templates.
4. Projects, Processes and CultureIdentify process gaps and suggest improvements to make HR operations more efficient.
Support the delivery of engagement, wellbeing, and culture initiatives.
Coordinate lifecycle events such as performance reviews, promotions, and annual pay reviews.
Assist with benefit administration, events, and other People-related projects as required.
What We Are Looking For
Proven HR experience, ideally 1-2 years in an HR Assistant or HR Administrator role.
Strong understanding of the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations administration, and payroll coordination.
Experience using an HR system such as PeopleHR, Factorial, BambooHR, or similar.
Sound knowledge of UK employment law basics, particularly around probation, sickness, absence, and contracts.
Proactive and solution-focused, with the ability to think ahead and manage priorities effectively.
Calm under pressure and organised, with excellent attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Friendly, approachable, and genuinely people-focused.
Confident using Google Suite or Microsoft Office, especially Excel or Google Sheets.
