We are looking for an analytical and proactive professional to join our HR team as an HR System Officer. In this role, you will help ensure our HR and Payroll system, iTrent, operates smoothly and continues to improve for all users.
In this role, you will manage user access and permissions, making sure colleagues have the right level of access. As the first point of contact for system queries, you'll resolve a range of issues, from straightforward questions to more complex challenges, and work with our external partner, MHR, when needed.
A key part of your role will be assessing and managing the impact of monthly system upgrades and new releases, including testing new features to ensure successful implementation. You'll maintain accurate data, support audits, and carry out regular housekeeping tasks to keep the system running efficiently.
You'll advise colleagues on how to make the most of the system's functionality and support improvements to HR processes, especially in areas like working patterns, absence management, and annual leave. Delivering training and communicating technical information in a clear, approachable way will also be important.
We're seeking someone with practical experience using HR payroll and information systems, strong IT skills, and a careful, detail-oriented approach. You should be confident in managing and configuring systems, comfortable delivering training, and able to explain technical matters simply. Collaboration across teams and an understanding of data protection and audit requirements are essential.
This role is suitable as a job share opportunity.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
The Council is committed to investing in the talent and wellbeing of our staff and can offer a generous annual leave allowance, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, comprehensive Health & Wellbeing initiatives and a reward package which recognises your contribution. We can offer flexible working practices, community engagement and volunteer activities and, as part of our commitment to you, promote continuous Learning & Development. In addition, we also offer a growing range of discounts, rewards and savings.
