To provide proactive professional support to managers and staff, acting as the initial contact for HR advice and guidance, ensuring queries are dealt with accurately, efficiently and professionally.
To be the first point of contact for managers and staff to provide professional advice and guidance in relation to recruitment and training and development queries
Key Tasks:
HR
Providing HR advice and guidance to managers and employees, as appropriate on relevant operational ER matters
Manage an agreed caseload of operational employee relations issues, ensuring that matters are dealt with in accordance with the RA policies and in a professional and timely manner
Contribute towards the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Recruitment
Provide advice and guidance in relation to recruitment activities; supporting managers and recruitment activities and campaigns from approval to appointment
Support recruiting manager / employee / candidate enquiries regarding accessing and using the recruitment system
Assess and maintain an awareness of trends regarding recruitment methods and processes; advise on and improve processes as appropriate and adopt RA's procedures as agreed.
Provide support to the on-going development of recruitment systems and procedures to ensure statutory compliance and contribute to continuous service improvements
Provide management reports on recruitment activities as required
Training & Development
Support RA's performance management framework, specifically the annual performance appraisal process and personal development plans
Develop, manage and support RA's induction and probation programmes
Own the process of creating, establishing and maintaining on-going matrices of training and development needs for all staff and managers across RA/RATE and ensure that a comprehensive programme of routine, periodic and special training needs is generated and available for funding and implementation discussions and decisions
Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records including evaluation of training delivered
Be responsible for managing and maintaining the E-Learning solution, seeking opportunities to maximise its use and potential
Produce management reports of delivery, progress and effectiveness of training activities
Source appropriate, cost-effective external training providers where no internal resources exist
Seek out opportunities to develop and further the aims of RA's people strategy, One Armouries
Producing and providing monthly KPI information for the HR Manager.
To undertake specific projects as directed.
Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the information input and stored on the IRIS Cascade HR System.
Support the HR Manager with audit activities
Provide support and cover for the HR Administrator as required
Develop and maintain staff communications via the intranet page and provide informative and engaging content for the staff newsletter.
To undertake other HR duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Part or Full CIPD qualification or equivalent - Desirable
Working towards / completed a HR Apprenticeship - Desirable
Experience:
Demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role - Essential
Experience of providing professional guidance and advice on ER matters inline with legislation and policy - Essential
Experience of providing professional guidance on all aspects of the employee life cycle - Essential
Previous experience of working within a HR team - Essential
High degree of competence in processing and recording data accurately - Essential
Hours:
22 hours / 4 days per week nominally during Monday to Friday. The role will be predominantly office based in Leeds, with occasional hybrid working.
