Hemiko are recruiting for a Health & Safety Administrator reporting to the Health and Safety Manager.



The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the 'Atlas' Health & Safety system, including document control, audit scheduling, and monitoring of non-conformance reporting. Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, this role will require wide liaison across all departments of the business.



We are looking for someone who as proven experience of working in a team in a fast-paced environment and is able to communicate appropriately and effectively (transmit and receive) with colleagues at all levels, and other interested parties. A sound grasp and knowledge of Microsoft applications (MS Office suite) and proficiency in their use will be essential for the successful candidate, as will a high level of literacy.

We fund, design, build, operates and maintain low carbon district energy networks and building energy systems. This work is for communities, towns, and cities. Some of our current projects include:


The design, installation, operating, and funding of a district heating system to serve 3,500 homes in Clapham as part of a major regeneration project. The design, installation, and operation of a new city centre wide low carbon district heating system for the City of Cardiff. The design, installation, and operation of a ground source heat pump system to provide heating and cooling to a new development of 300 homes a gym and office building in South London. The design and installation of a heat network in a rural community in Cambridgeshire to replace oil boilers in 300 homes with centralised low carbon heat generation. Developing detailed long-term decarbonisation plans for existing large scale district heating networks to allow them to transition from gas fired CHP led generation to low carbon generation.

The Role





Your role will be to provide health and safety systems support for the business, working closely with and supported by the wider Hemiko team.



The candidate will need to be comfortable communicating with team members at all levels within the company. They will be personable and a good communicator.



Whilst the main daily tasks will be administrative in nature, there is scope to develop the role and to gain considerable experience working across several project disciplines.

Key responsibilities:




To be the dedicated point of contact for all company document enquiries. To ensure that all company documents conform to a standard format, are uniquely identified, are released for review, authorised, approved and hosted according to company document control procedures. To assist with the successful continued operation of the Integrated Management System by forecasting audit schedules and arranging for their completion. To monitor the progress of outstanding actions from internal and external audits through use of the 'Atlas' Health & Safety platform. To assist with the servicing of various external accreditation platforms and ensuring recent and relevant information is uploaded to them for continuing certification e.g., CHAS/SMAS/Constructionline/Safe Contractor. To provide administrative support for committee meetings including production of minutes.



Desirable Experience




Strong organisational and analytical skills. Experience with document management systems. Previous experience of managing and tracking documents including managing version control.



Remuneration and Info




Remuneration: Base up to 30,000 (pro rate amount is up to 14,400) Discretionary bonus based on individual and business performance. An inclusive culture that promotes diversity.
