We are seeking a dedicated HSEQ Manager to join our team, operating mainly from our Stockport office with hybrid working and onsite visits as required.

The Role



The HSEQ Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with UK HSE legislation and maintaining safe working practices across all UK operations, with a focus on audio?visual (AV) installation and construction?related project environments. The role leads the organisation's integrated management system covering

ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 27001

, ensuring alignment with certification requirements and supporting continuous improvement.

This role serves as the organisation's competent person for health, safety, and environmental matters, providing guidance, governance, and assurance to protect employees, clients, subcontractors, and business operations.

Responsibilities



H&S Management:

Lead compliance with UK H&S legislation, including the Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM 2015, PUWER, COSHH, Working at Height, and RIDDOR. Act as the primary point of contact for HSE?related matters and enforcement liaison. Develop, implement, and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, guidance, and safe systems of work. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and behavioural safety reviews across AV and construction environments. Review, approve, and support the development of RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, risk assessments, and method statements. Manage accident and incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Deliver training, toolbox talks, and competency assessments for operational teams. Oversee subcontractor H&S pre?qualification, monitoring, and performance management.
ISO Management System:

Maintain and develop the IMS across

ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 27001

. Plan and lead internal audit programmes; manage audit records and non?conformities. Prepare for and coordinate external certification and surveillance audits. Ensure documentation, processes, and operational practices remain compliant with ISO standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain risk registers and management reviews. Support information security compliance activities in line with ISO 27001, working closely with IT/IS teams.
Environmental & Sustainability:

Oversee environmental compliance and controls across project operations. Support environmental impact assessments and waste management processes. Contribute to ESG, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiatives.
Operations and Project Support:

Advise project managers and site teams on safety planning, site setup, and safe working practices. Support tendering and client engagement activities by providing HSEQ input and assurance documentation. Monitor key HSEQ performance indicators and produce regular reports for leadership.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications



Essential



NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent; NEBOSH Diploma preferred. Demonstrable experience in construction or AV installation environments. Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM 2015. Practical experience maintaining and auditing ISO systems (9001, 14001, 45001 and/or 27001). Experience conducting investigations and producing incident reports. Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work autonomously and influence at all organisational levels.

Desirable



Lead Auditor qualification for one or more ISO standards. TechIOSH or GradIOSH membership working toward Chartered status. Environmental qualifications (e.g., IEMA) beneficial. Experience in contractor management and multi?site operations. Knowledge of information security principles (ISO 27001?related).
