What does this team do?

Our global Human Capital practice unlocks human potential for individuals, organisations and society; connects human experience with technological advancement in an ever changing, volatile world; and creates the conditions for success that enable our clients to achieve complex transformation, that not only delivers on its promise, but also empowers people to thrive in the new reality.

Our Human Capital people operate within 5 core teams: HR Strategy & Transformation, Organisation & Workforce Transformation, Human Capital as a Service, Major Programmes and Actuarial Insurance & Banking.

This job description is for

HR Applications

(as detailed below) which sits in

HR Strategy & Transformation

.

The world of work is rapidly changing, and people are at the centre. If you love problem solving, innovating and want to work with world-leading, influential organisations to enable their workforces to thrive, then this is the place for you.

In Human Capital, HR Applications, we work directly with the largest Cloud software technologies in the market (Oracle, SAP, Workday) and other emerging technologies to design and implement cutting-edge HR solutions that enable a high-performing HR function and the activities that sit within it. Our teams help clients to design and build cloud-based HR systems that make work and their employees more efficient across the employee lifecycle.

Crucially, we are at the forefront of using the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in HR. We design and implement AI-powered solutions, including GenAI and specific HR AI technologies, to transform HR functions and deliver exceptional employee experiences.

As part of this role, you will gain expertise in developing, configuring, testing and implementing Cloud software technologies by placing employee experience at the forefront of design. An interest in HR and new technology is advised - you will gain knowledge of configuring Cloud solutions, building AI-powered chatbots, various coding languages (such as SQL, Java, Groovy, Python and Ruby) and using APIs to create reports, dashboards and integrate with other applications.

You will have the opportunity to develop expertise in applying GenAI and other emerging AI technologies to solve real-world HR challenges, such as automating tasks, personalising employee experiences, and generating data-driven insights.

We are recognised externally and ranked as the Global Leader in both HR Transformation and Digital HR Advisory. We have clients across Public, Private and Financial Sectors and our goal is to build capability, credibility and community within each organisation to deliver high impact HR to the business. As part of the team, you will gain experience working with these clients and have opportunities to grow your career with us at Deloitte, through individual training, support and development.

What skills and academic qualifications do I need?

This programme is for university students who are doing well academically and want to test their skills in the real world. We do have some minimum requirements for you to meet, and you will need more than good grades to make the most of your placement. If you're fascinated by business and can't wait to get stuck into complex projects that make a difference, you will fit right in. You must be in the penultimate year of your course, or going on to a master's, and you need to be on track to achieve a predicted degree classification of 2:1 or above in any discipline. Duration of the Programme: 6 Weeks

What kind of work will I do?

You will join a client-facing role working as part of the HR Applications team. You will work on large-scale technology transformations. Every project is different, but some typical examples of responsibilities include:

Supporting clients in enhancing their HR technology landscape. Working with senior leaders to understand the organisation's requirements, and how these can vary by function, location or region. Developing expertise in particular areas of the system, such as Recruitment, Performance Management and Time & Attendance, with an emphasis on using HR AI technologies. Hosting system demonstrations and knowledge transfer sessions with clients, based on your areas of expertise, showcasing the capabilities and benefits of AI-powered HR solutions. Configuring the chosen HR application to align to the clients' requirements and enabling the delivery of the strategic aims for the technology implementation, including the seamless integration of AI components. Developing bespoke technical solutions such as management dashboards, reports, AI chatbots and integrations with other applications, using your knowledge of AI, GenAI, and HR AI technologies. Receiving enhanced training and/or becoming a certified implementation practitioner for your HR application. Supporting with the preparation of documents/presentations to deliver recommendations to clients, clearly articulating the value proposition of AI-driven HR transformation.

Where will I work?

At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

All our work spaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our

parent and carer policies here.

How will I develop?

We don't just keep humans at the heart of our client work, we do this internally too. We strongly believe in investing in our people, providing learning and development opportunities across all our areas of expertise - consulting skills, ways of working, tools, and methodologies - delivered through a combination of on-the-job experience, training and team activities.

As a Summer Vacation Student you will get the following opportunities:

Our dedicated Technology & Transformation SVS team will support you from your first day, organising fun activities to help you get to know your fellow SVS students. You will attend our induction alongside other business line students to learn about the firm, our culture and how we work, before diving into Technology & Transformation specific induction activities. After your induction you will work on projects with colleagues at all levels of seniority helping to solve real client problems. You will be provided with a support network including a buddy, people leader, project mentor, and more! You will be provided with a number of resources such as the SVS Student Handbook which can help guide you through your time at Deloitte. Upon being offered an SVS role, you will be assigned a buddy who has previously been an SVS student themselves. They will be your informal point of contact for any queries, and to offer insight and guidance ahead of joining.
