Programme Description

What does this team do?

Our global Human Capital practice unlocks human potential for individuals, organisations and society; connects human experience with technological advancement in an ever changing, volatile world; and creates the conditions for success that enable our clients to achieve complex transformation, that not only delivers on its promise, but also empowers people to thrive in the new reality.

Our Human Capital people operate within 5 core teams: HR Strategy & Transformation, Organisation & Workforce Transformation, Human Capital as a Service, Major Programmes and Actuarial Insurance & Banking.

This job description is for HR Strategy & Transformation (Advisory), Organisation & Workforce Transformation, and Major Programmes as detailed below.

HR Strategy & Transformation (Advisory)

- To take the lead, the future of HR demands major shifts in mind-set, roles, capabilities and digital enablers, with reinvention at the core. In Deloitte's HR Transformation offering, we empower the HR function through end-to-end solutions encompassing strategy, design, implementation, and operations. Our team is made up of HR Advisory, Employee Experience and HR Applications. HR Advisory looks to transform HR functions, Employee Experience explores people-focused tech and end-to-end employee experience, and HR Applications works directly with the largest Cloud software technologies in the market (Oracle, SAP, Workday) and other emerging technologies. Crucially, we are at the forefront of leveraging the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in HR. We design and implement AI-powered solutions, including GenAI and specific HR AI technologies, to transform HR functions and deliver exceptional employee experiences. Above all, in HR Transformation, we are always looking for purpose and the opportunity to make an impact in everything we do, whilst keeping people at the centre of organisational thinking.

Organisation & Workforce Transformation

- Globally, organisations across government, financial, and private sectors face novel and sweeping external forces, from sustainability and climate to emerging technologies. Organisation and Workforce Transformation interrogates how best to align an organisation's operating model, structure, talent, leadership, and culture, with a business strategy that addresses these external forces. We work with organisations to deliver true transformation and sustain it over time. We collaborate across the Deloitte network to make work better for humans, and humans better at work.

Major Programme

s - Today, organisations across all sectors of global life face unprecedented economic, environmental, and societal change. Meeting these challenges requires corresponding investment in transformation and future-facing infrastructure, but due to their inherent complexity, many of these investments never deliver the required benefits. Deloitte Major Programmes specialises in the design, mobilisation, delivery and recovery of high-investment, high-impact transformation and infrastructure programmes. In addition to our own specialities, we identify and draw on the full range of expertise available to Deloitte to put people at the heart of delivering our clients' most challenging initiatives.

What skills and academic qualifications do I need?

This programme is for university students who are doing well academically and want to test their skills in the real world. We do have some minimum requirements for you to meet, and you will need more than good grades to make the most of your placement. If you're fascinated by business and can't wait to get stuck into complex projects that make a difference, you will fit right in. You must be in the penultimate year of your course, or going on to a master's, and you need to be on track to achieve a predicted degree classification of 2:1 or above in any discipline. Duration of the Programme: 6 Weeks

What kind of work will I do?

You will join a client-facing role working as part of a team of Deloitte Human Capital consultants to help our clients solve their problems. Responsibilities could include:

Working with clients to understand their requirements and helping them to shape and implement innovative solutions for these requirements. This could involve, for example, supporting a workshop to help clients structure their thinking and come to a collective understanding of the problems they face. Conducting research and analysis, drawing insights from the evaluation, and communicating these recommendations to your client in a meaningful and insightful way. This could involve presenting back the findings of an assessment for the national roll-out of a new digital asset, demonstrating the training that would be required. Assisting in the preparation of documents and visually engaging presentations to effectively communicate and deliver key messages and recommendations to clients.

Where will I work?

At Deloitte we recognise how important face-to-face interaction is for your development in a new role. We also understand that our people need flexibility, which is why we operate a hybrid system, with a combination of office and home working. If you're in a client-facing role, you might be expected to attend client sites on certain days, while your meetings will be a mix of online and in-person events. Please note your final assessment and induction will also be in-person, to give you the opportunity to network and build relationships.

All our work spaces are accessible, however, if you require further flexibility due to a health condition or caring responsibilities, please discuss this with our team. You can find further information on our

parent and carer policies here.

How will I develop?

We don't just keep humans at the heart of our client work we do this internally too. We strongly believe in investing in our people, providing learning and development opportunities across all our areas of expertise - consulting skills, ways of working, tools, and methodologies - delivered through a combination of on-the-job experience, training and team activities.

As a Summer Vacation Student you will get the following opportunities:

Our dedicated Technology & Transformation SVS team will support you from your first day, organising fun activities to help you get to know your fellow SVS students. You will attend our induction alongside other business line students to learn about the firm, our culture and how we work, before diving into Technology & Transformation specific induction activities. After your induction you will work on projects with colleagues at all levels of seniority helping to solve real client problems. You will be provided with a support network including a buddy, people leader, project mentor, and more! You will be provided with several resources such as the SVS Student Handbook which can help guide you through your time at Deloitte.

Upon being offered an SVS role, you will be assigned a buddy who has previously been an SVS student themselves. They will be your informal point of contact for any queries, and to offer insight and guidance ahead of joining.
