Human Resources Advisor (on-site, No Hybrid) (12-month contract to January 2024 to End December 2024 as an employee) Location: Hull - East Riding of Yorkshire Department: Human Resources Reports to: Human Resources Manager Direct report(s): None \xe2\x80\x93 working in a team of three + the HR Manager Purpose of Role

  • To coach and support to Line Managers and workers on employment related matters. Support the HR Manager with implementing best practice across the site to add value to the delivery of the business objectives.
Key Abilities/Training Required General Attainment & Training Job Related Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • Level 5 MCIPD (or working towards) CIPD membership \xe2\x80\x93 level 5
  • All relevant site policies, procedures & Proven track record of working in a busy processes HR function
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools Experience working in an FMCG
  • Minimum level 2 Food Safety (Preferred) environment
  • Good communication and organisation skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Support and coach Line Managers, offering advice and solutions when required
  • Provide generalist support to Line Managers on human resource matters such as discipline, grievance, absence management, flexible working, sickness and attrition, etc
  • Ensure effective coordination of employee relations cases, including document management
  • Educate and support Line Managers on contractual/policy matters
  • Initiate and manage HR projects/consultations as required
  • Identify situations that have a people impact and influence decisions made
  • Maintain job descriptions for the site
  • Monitor the on-boarding process for new workers, ensuring that the relevant documentation is sent/received
  • Ensure that all documents are saved on the HR system and/or Timeware
  • Support during internal/external ethical audits - The company is audited by BRCEnsure that the reward and recognition policies and practices are implemented in a fair and consistent manner
Organise and communicate Occupational Health appointments and review the reports
Oversee maternity/paternity process, ensuring that all communication is sent to the relevant workers
Compile and report on monthly/quarterly KPIs including absence, turnover, retention and headcount
Track and anaylse trends on employee relations and provide ideas for improvements
Monitor, measure and report on equal opportunities information and workforce demographics
Engage with the on-site Labour partners, ensuring that the Representatives are meeting company requirements
Lead HR initiatives, such as Wellbeing week, staff survey and fundraising events
  • Support the HR Manager to maximize the effective deployment of performance management processes to enhance individual and business performance
  • Challenge and engage with people in own team and cross functionally
  • Challenge current processes and practices, with a view to improve
  • Support the HR Manager in developing and delivering policies and masterclasses on key human resource areas
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures and codes of practice
  • Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, in terms of people and the local area
  • Ensure that you understand and adhere to your personal responsibilities with regard the Health and Safety
  • To effectively promote Health, Safety and Environmental awareness
