Are you an experienced and motivated HR professional looking for a new challenge? Due to the retirement of our current HR/Admin manager we are looking to appoint a dedicated, motivated and inspirational person to manage and lead the Human Resources and Administrative functions of the school. We are looking for a dynamic and proactive colleague who has excellent interpersonal skills in order to lead on HR in a robust, consistent, thorough and sensitive manner.
Ravenscliffe High School, is Calderdale's only secondary specialist school with a large team of 190 staff and 263 students on roll. Our ideal candidate will already hold a CIPD qualification of at least Level 5 (or equivalent), or will be expected commence the qualification soon after taking up their employment. They will have proven experience in a similar HR and administrative management role. Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential, as we would be equally interested to hear from candidates who currently work, or have previous experience in, other sectors.
The position is 37 hours per week term time plus 15 days to be worked during school closure periods, The post holder will be expected to work on school training days as part of the additional days.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the HR and Admin function of the school, providing strategic direction and ensuring high performance.
Lead recruitment processes, including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and on boarding.
Manage employee relations, including supporting the senior leadership team in handling grievances, disciplinary procedures, and performance management processes.
Provide best practice HR advice in compliance with employment legislation, school policies, and safeguarding requirements.
Support the SLT with HR strategic planning, decision-making and continuous improvement.
Promote and champion a positive, inclusive and supportive work environment for all.
