Human Resources Global People Services Generalist

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

The energy of a newsroom, the pace of a trading floor, the buzz of a recent tech breakthrough; we work hard, and we work fast - while keeping up the quality and accuracy we're known for. It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We bring out the best in each other through collaboration. Through our countless volunteer projects, we also help network with the communities around us, too. You can do amazing work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.
At Bloomberg, our people are our most valuable asset. Enabling their success directly contributes to the success of our business. As a member of the Global People Services (GPS) team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting employees and shaping their experience across the full lifecycle--guiding them with clarity, care, and sound expertise.

You'll draw on a strong understanding of Bloomberg's HR policies to help employees navigate their needs with empathy and precision. Working collaboratively with the Centres of Excellence and HR colleagues across EMEA and globally, you will contribute to consistent, high-impact support. Your insights will help identify patterns and areas for improvement--ultimately advancing how we deliver service across the firm.

We'll trust you to:

Act as a central point of contact for employees and offer thoughtful guidance rooted in policy and practice. Interpret and apply policies while navigating sensitive and complex scenarios. Manage priorities effectively and know where your focus creates the most value. Spot trends in employee needs and collaborate with HR colleagues to address them proactively. Partner with teams including HR business partners, Employee Relations, and Legal to coordinate appropriate responses. Contribute to firmwide programmes such as onboarding, open enrollment, and wellness initiatives. Manage confidential information with care, professionalism, and sound judgment. Identify opportunities to enhance GPS processes and recommend practical improvements. Build strong familiarity with EMEA benefits and serve as a knowledge resource for both employees and internal HR partners.

You'll need to have:

3 years within an HR client-facing environment or similar experience. A track record of handling challenging conversations and working constructively with stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport. Ability to work with discretion, diplomacy, and tact in a high-pressure setting. Previous experience developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Proven capability to multitask, manage large volumes of work, and meet tight deadlines. Good judgment and the ability to be proactive and take initiative to seek out solutions. Ability to navigate the "grey" areas by applying judgment and thinking creatively when responding to customer needs. Curiosity to learn and seek feedback to continuously grow and develop skills, stretching outside your comfort zone. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

We'd love to see:

Fluency or working proficiency in German Experience in a global matrixed environment
