We are looking for a seasoned HR advisor with experience in a senior HR role and in a school setting. At Southfields Academy we have an inclusive ethos and this means that we do not turn away students who may present with challenges, but, instead we work hard to deliver the best possible provision so that every child has progression opportunities and can further make meaningful contributions in society. This means that our staff deserve the best HR who can support them and guide them whilst maintaining the highest professional standards.
You might not have decades of experience - but you bring solid HR knowledge, sound judgement, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. You're confident enough to advise, but humble enough to ask when you're unsure. You understand the importance of confidentiality, and your attention to detail means processes are followed correctly, every time.
Whether you're supporting recruitment, resolving people queries, advising on policy, or guiding a line manager through a sensitive issue - you'll be hands-on, thoughtful, and ready to roll up your sleeves. You'll also know when to escalate appropriately or seek advice to ensure the best outcomes for staff and students. Your responsibilities include:

Who we are
Southfields Academy was a stand-alone converter academy situated in South West London on the Southfields - Earlsfield border and in 2018 founded the Southfields Multi-Academy Trust with its partner Linden Lodge School.
The Academy is the modern incarnation of Southfields School which was founded in 1949. The school was founded on the principles of providing a truly comprehensive education for local children encompassing the very best in academic rigour and the provision of outstanding opportunities in applied learning and vocational subjects. These principles are still the driving force of the academy. To read more about the history of Southfields Academy visit our website.
The Academy has the highest expectations of achievement and behaviour and offers a nurturing and supportive environment where it celebrates difference and ensures that everyone, students and staff, meets their full potential. The Academy values every individual and commits to ensuring everyone feels supported and listened to.
The Academy has a positive "can do" attitude, believing that the sky is its limit, and it thinks creatively and innovatively to meet the needs of its learners and the community. The Academy's examination results and student destinations are a testament to this.
Professional Development
As one of the first 100 National Teaching Schools, most recently, and as a Training School of nearly 20 years standing, with a National Leader of Education as Principal and being a designated National Support School, the Academy has a tradition of innovation and thought leadership on education and pedagogy. The opportunity for teachers to not only make an impact on their own practice but that of colleagues across the profession is key to this success.
All teachers have professional development opportunities, designed for their career point, and department meetings are more often than not given over to the development and refining of practice rather than housekeeping.
ly Qualified Teachers benefit from a programme led by members of the Senior Leadership Team, there is an Early Professional Development Programme for second year teachers and through leadership opportunities across the Academy there is a culture of pushing those aspiring middle and senior leaders to reach their goal.
The Academy has supported many staff through Masters and PhD studies at university and has a tradition of growing its own future middle and senior leaders.
