Brief Description

Do you want to make a impact to diversity and inclusion in Route Services?

This is a temporary 12-month HR Project Leader opportunity to support Route Services to really make progress in creating a workforce that is diverse and a culture where everyone feels safe and included.

You will be passionate about diversity and inclusion but be informed by data and best practice and a willingness to support the business with practical support that aligns to Network Rail\'s strategy and implement initiatives.

About the role (External)

What you will be doing?

1. Working with the Head of Human Resources and HR colleagues, you will be embedding diversity and inclusion into all our HR processes, in line with Network Rails diversity and inclusion policy.

2. Delivering change initiatives and supporting D&I programmes across all aspects of diversity.

3. Analysing diversity data to understand how the business actions impact on diversity in practice, recommend changes and identify areas for both continuous improvement and where significant change might be needed to help us develop to become a truly inclusive place to work.

4. Support and facilitate D&I awareness sessions, working closely with the Employee Networks.

5. Work with the Route Services Diversity and Inclusion Change Group to ensure the business is empowered to drive change.

6. Encourage D&I Champions to be actively engaged and feel supported. Encourage colleagues to become D&I champions in business areas which do not have many active D&I champions.

7. Support resourcing colleagues with our D&I plans for diverse recruitment.

8. Develop and maintain the Route Services D&I Hub, making it a focal point for Route Services employees increasing knowledge, awareness and reducing duplication of effort.

9. Increase participation in development programmes and increase awareness of opportunities.

10. Working with our communications team you will make sure all our people are aware of opportunities.

11. Work with our Employee Networks and D&I Leads across Network Rail, learning from and sharing pilot initiatives/experiences.

12. Working with our STEAM leads to embed our new STEAM strategy, you will help us work with STEAM Ambassadors and provide support for functionals to develop activities that align to the early engagement strategy.

Job Skills and Experience

Essential

\xc2\xb7 Extensive diversity and inclusion knowledge and able to apply that knowledge to drive change

\xc2\xb7 Up to date knowledge of employment legislation (equalities)

\xc2\xb7 Experience of delivering D&I awareness sessions/events.

\xc2\xb7 Confident operating and challenging at all levels within the organisation

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of psychological safety and the wider impact of D&I in promoting a positive safety culture.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrable evidence of how you show positive behaviours and values.

\xc2\xb7 Able to articulate and educate about diversity and inclusion

Desirable

\xc2\xb7 Developed coaching skills to support individuals who are facing barriers
