About the role

This is a really exciting time as we expand and develop a world-class cultural programme powered by research, leading up to the opening of the new Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, which will house a state-of-the-art music hall, theatre, cinema, immersive black box and exhibition space.

The Cultural Programme is seeking an Events Manager who will play a crucial role in helping us produce, develop and deliver our public programme. The programme is innovative, working in collaboration with cultural and community partners, academics, organisations, performers, artists, film-makers and musicians. It seeks to increase accessibility and social impact, engaging new audiences and participants of all ages, and activating an understanding of humanities research and reaffirming its value to our common future.

This is a stimulating and busy role requiring excellent producing, project management and organisational skills. The Event Manager will need professional experience of producing, events management, cultural programming skills, diplomatic people management skills, and a commitment to building and maintaining relationships with academics and external cultural organisations as well as helping us to reach new audiences.

The event Manager will be part of a team, overseen by an Executive Producer and led by a senior coordinator, who are responsible for the management, development and delivery of the Cultural Programme.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day and longer-term management of designated cultural programme events. You will lead on the producing, planning, delivery and evaluation of high-quality year-round events, including audience engagement, both internal and external to the University. You will work with senior academics and partners to develop, influence, and manage individual and programmes of events (cross artform).

You will be responsible for ensuring all administrative and financial processes are supported and carried out according to University regulations and standards.

About you

We are looking for someone who is excited by this opportunity and can bring their skills, experience and passion to the role.

You should have substantial previous event management experience within arts and cultural organisations and/or have experience of delivering mid / large scale public events. You will have strong administrative and budget management skills and you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly forge new relationships.
