The Role - Hybrid Trainee Mortgage Administrator (Sheffield)
As a Trainee Mortgage Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the mortgage advice team and ensuring the smooth progression of mortgage applications. This hybrid role allows you to split your time between the Sheffield office and working from home, offering both flexibility and structure.
You will receive full training across all areas of Mortgage Admin, developing your skills in documentation, compliance, lender communication, customer service and application processing. This role provides the perfect entry point into a stable, well-respected profession.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Mortgage Admin support to Mortgage Advisors.
  • Process mortgage applications and supporting documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaise with lenders, solicitors and clients to ensure timely progress of applications.
  • Maintain and update client files, internal systems and databases.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, mortgage illustrations and suitability documents.
  • Respond to telephone enquiries and provide excellent client support.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Assist the wider team with general administrative duties.
  • Demonstrate ongoing commitment to training, personal development and progression toward a full Mortgage Administrator role.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A proactive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Previous administrative experience is helpful but not essential--full training provided.
  • A genuine interest in financial services, mortgage processes and building a long-term career as a Mortgage Administrator.
