Smart Platforms is seeking a full-time

Hydraulic Service Engineer

to join our Dartford depot. This role focuses on maintaining and inspecting the boom side of our

vehicle-mounted access platforms

, including hydraulic arms, outriggers, and lifting equipment.

We are looking for candidates with a background in

plant, agricultural, HGV, or hydraulic systems

who have the transferable skills to step into the powered access industry.

Experience with LOLER inspections or IPAF CAP certification is desirable

, but not essential -- full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and inspection of hydraulic lifting equipment, booms, and outriggers Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and mechanical faults Supporting the LOLER inspection process (training provided if not already certified) Completing service records and maintenance documentation Working as part of the depot team to ensure machines are safe, legal, and ready for hire Participation in the on-call rota as required

Requirements

Proven experience in hydraulic systems, plant maintenance, or similar mechanical engineering fields Relevant qualifications or time-served equivalent Willingness to train towards LOLER inspection competence (if not already held) Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Full UK driving licence Ability to work independently and as part of a team
