Hygiene / Food Production Operative (Cooked Meat) - Monday to Friday AFTERNOON SHIFT

Houghton Hams is a well-established, family-run, food production business which started in 1989, based in Moulton Park. Since the year 2000, Houghton Hams has rapidly grown and expanded. With customers and clients ranging from high end retailers to individual customers and food establishments, Houghton Hams went from having one building to now having four.

We supply to our customers nationally on a next day service. Products include, but not limited to, bacon, gammon joints, hams, and sausages.

Role and responsibilities

Ensuring the correct work instructions are adhered to. Ensuring the materials are supplied to the production lines in full and on time. Ensuring the correct materials are used all the time according to required recipe. Paying particular attention to the quality of the products used. Reporting all non-conformities to the Supervisor/ Manager. Cutting, slicing, shredding

cooked meat

. Ensuring that correct GMP standards are maintain in working environment. General housekeeping. Cleaning production machinery and all areas of the factory from ceiling to floor, ensuring cleaning procedures, COSHH regulations and H&S requirements are followed and met. Dismantling some of the equipment in preparation for cleaning and rebuilding once cleaned. Operating cleaning equipment and other cleaning materials.

Key requirements (qualifications and skills)

Experience working in a food environment is welcome (chilled environment), but not essential. Appropriate training will be conducted. Candidate must be flexible and hard-working, prepared to carry out manual handling. Good attention to detail required. Willing and able to work in a

busy

and

cold

environment. Able to work under pressure. Comfortable wearing PPE and working in a factory environment with chemicals and cleaning equipment.
