About the role

We invite applications from enthusiastic and flexible ICT support specialists to join our existing ICT support team. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of general hardware and software as well as being highly organised and having excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team is essential and experience of working in an ICT support role or similar would be an advantage.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Manage own workload through the allocation of calls via the helpdesk; Providing first line ICT support to staff and students; Assist with the maintenance of all ICT rooms and equipment; Assist with general technical support for the ICT department; Assist with the evaluation of new and existing software; Attend and contribute to ICT related meetings; Assist in the development of recording systems for ICT usage throughout the department; Assist in keeping the ICT software/hardware inventories up to date; Assist in providing technical support for staff presentations; Be aware of and adhere to all relevant health and safety legislation associated with duties undertaken; Commission, maintain, test and repair electronic/computer systems, associated peripherals and AV equipment ensuring this equipment complies with health & safety legislation; Install and configure software under the direction of the network manager.

We are an 11-16 academy based in the large, north-east town of Middlesbrough.



The academy received a good judgement in their 2017 Ofsted inspection. However in July 2022 the academy was given a notice to improve judgement. Leadership has significantly changed and a comprehensive improvement plan has been implemented to secure sustainable long term change for the academy.
