Job Description

The post holder will support the Imaging Academy Clinical IT Systems Manager in the management and ongoing evaluation of an AI programme of work.
To implement and manage the business intelligence system used by the Academy. This will deliver up to date operational and management information to underpin the efficient delivery of the service.
To manage all clinical and administrative computer systems within the Academy, including appropriate training of all Academy staff and other key stakeholders.
To participate and manage projects at the Academy and at a National Health Board level for the development of new clinical and administrative software solutions to support the Academy clinical and business needs.
To develop and implement innovative ways of working with the core clinical systems system to meet current and future needs of the Academy.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will play a key role in supporting the National Imaging Academy Wales mission through the effective management, development and evaluation of Radiology and Clinical IT systems. Working closely with the Clinical IT Systems Manager, they will ensure that all imaging systems (including PACS, RIS and AI platforms) operate safely, efficiently and in line with national strategies and governance standards.
They will contribute to the strategic and operational planning of the Academy, lead on aspects of business intelligence, training and user support, and act as a key liaison with Health Board IT teams, system suppliers and national groups. The role includes responsibility for first-line IT support, policy development, staff training, risk management, quality assurance and data governance.
The post holder will also help drive research, education and innovation by supporting digital learning platforms, coordinating clinical audits, and participating in trials of new technologies such as AI. They will maintain up-to-date professional knowledge in radiology IT and imaging practice, uphold high standards of patient confidentiality, safety and clinical quality, and contribute to a proactive learning environment for all Academy staff and trainees.
