Manchester (office-based with optional WFH days after probation)

Salary:

36,000 - 48,000 DOE + Bonuses

About the Role



We are recruiting an experienced Immigration Solicitor to join our busy and growing legal practice. This role involves managing a private immigration caseload, delivering high-quality legal advice, maintaining excellent client communication, and working efficiently to meet performance and billing targets.

The firm offers a supportive team culture, opportunities for progression, and a performance-driven bonus structure. After probation, limited work-from-home flexibility is available.

Key Responsibilities



Legal Casework



Manage a varied caseload of private immigration matters including: Spouse and partner applications Family immigration routes Skilled Worker and sponsorship applications Visitor visas Settlement (ILR) Naturalisation and citizenship Other general immigration matters Prepare accurate, high-quality application bundles and representations Draft legal submissions and correspondence Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients throughout the process

Client Care & Communication



Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients Manage expectations clearly regarding evidence, timelines and fees Respond to queries promptly and ensure clients are kept informed Deliver high standards of service across all interactions

File Management & Compliance



Maintain well-organised files and documentation Follow internal procedures for onboarding, ID checks and record-keeping Comply with all regulatory and data-protection requirements

Billing, Productivity & Performance



Meet agreed billing and productivity expectations Record time accurately and ensure disbursements are captured Progress files efficiently to ensure steady workflow and monthly output Work collaboratively with admin and management teams to optimise performance

Teamwork & Contribution



Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment Participate in internal training and knowledge-sharing Assist junior staff where appropriate

About You



Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent Experience in private immigration law Strong drafting and written communication skills Ability to manage a busy caseload with accuracy and efficiency Excellent client-care skills and a professional approach Organised, proactive and confident working to clear targets
