We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Import Clerk to play a key role in keeping our international supply chain running smoothly. You will coordinate shipments from origin to final delivery, ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant, and work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to guarantee timely, cost-effective imports. This is a dynamic role that combines operational responsibility with problem-solving and cross-team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all import and export logistics activities from order receipt through to final delivery.
Book containers with freight forwarders, confirm schedules, and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
Prepare, check, and manage import/export shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and commodity codes.
Ensure compliance with Incoterms, customs procedures, and international trade regulations.
Track and organize supplier payments, filing confirmations and relevant documents for finance and audit purposes.
Update in house company systems with PO's, shipment details, exchange rates, and delivery status.
Plan local deliveries and coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure seamless receipt of goods.
Collaborate across internal teams to optimize logistics, resolve issues proactively, and support operational efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Proven experience in import, export, or international shipping administration.
Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, carriers, and suppliers.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal teams and external partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with WMS or ERP systems is a plus.
Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
