Role Overview



We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Import/Export Shipping Assistant to join our operations team. This role is focused entirely on the logistical coordination and compliance of international and domestic shipping activities -- supporting the seamless movement of goods across our supply chain.

You will play a vital role in ensuring goods are imported and exported efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively, while liaising with freight partners, warehouse teams, and internal departments to keep our supply chain running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities



Coordinate import and export shipments from origin to delivery, ensuring timely arrival of goods. Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, hauliers, and warehouse operators to arrange and confirm transportation. Prepare and manage accurate shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork. Track and monitor shipments, resolving any delays or issues as they arise to avoid disruption to supply. Support the Operations and NPD teams by monitoring delivery schedules of purchase orders and proactively managing delays or exceptions. Maintain and update all customs procedures and shipping compliance documentation as per HMRC guidelines. Monitor and record freight costs and assist in negotiating competitive rates with carriers.[EM1] [KW2] Ensure product classifications (commodity codes, country of origin, Incoterms etc.) are correct and up-to-date. Maintain accurate and organised shipping records for audit and compliance purposes.

Highly organised and detail-focused with excellent problem-solving skills. A team player with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG environment. Able to handle multiple shipments and priorities Proactive communicator who builds strong working relationships with external and internal partners.

Experience & Skills



Previous experience in an import/export or logistics coordination role (desirable). Knowledge of international shipping documentation, Incoterms, and customs procedures (desirable). Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (essential). Good numeracy, written and verbal communication skills (essential).

Pay: 24,000.00-25,000.00 per year
