in Huddersfield is a special academy educating children and young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties across Kirklees.

We are recruiting ahead of a significant expansion that will see the school move from Scissett to Deighton an exciting time to be joining us.

THE ROLE

As an Inclusion Support Worker at this school in Huddersfield, you will offer more than classroom support. You will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs by making connections, developing relationships and helping our pupils navigate the path to a better future. You will provide tailored support to students on a 1:1 or small group basis, working alongside teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and nurturing environment. Other duties will include:

Getting the classroom ready for lessons Supporting the pupils in and out of class ensuring their engagement and participation Providing emotional support to students, helping them build confidence and resilience Completing pupils records and learning plans Taking the lead on specific activities and sessions Providing learning routines at school, in the community and in the family home Implementing strategies and interventions to help students manage challenging behaviour

THE CANDIDATE

Experience in a school or similar setting IDEALLY experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs A patient, empathetic and proactive approach to supporting students Educated with GCSE Maths and English or equivalent Car driver with access to own vehicle

SALARY/ HOURS

Salary for a ISW Inclusion Support Worker 22,604 - 23,738 actual annual salary working 32.5 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our

Working hours are 8.50am - 3.30pm (accept Tues & Thurs till 4.30pm for CPD and Friday 3.10pm)
