We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Inclusive Sports Coach to join our team. You should be able to Deliver safe, engaging sports sessions that intentionally include participants who may experience exclusion (e.g., disabled people, neurodivergent people, those with additional support needs or language/communication barriers). You will adapt activities, environments and communication so every participant can access, enjoy and progress.
Duties
Plan & deliver inclusive sessions
across age groups and abilities, using adaptation frameworks (e.g., adjusting space, rules, equipment, grouping) so all participants can take part meaningfully. Ensure content and outcomes are equitable and inclusive.
Intentionally include participants' needs
in session design and delivery; build feedback loops into practice to identify barriers and remove them.
Use inclusive communication
: plain English, flexible pace and tone, check understanding, avoid assumptions, and adapt for different communication preferences (e.g., BSL, lip?speakers, speech?to?text reporters where appropriate).
Create a safe, supportive environment
: model respect, belonging and dignity; proactively prevent exclusion; and respond appropriately to concerns.
Safeguarding
: recognise, respond, refer and record child/vulnerable?adult protection concerns in line with organisational policy and national guidance; work closely with Nominated Protection Officers (NPOs) and follow mandatory learning.
Participant progression
: set clear, achievable goals and celebrate progress; differentiate tasks to meet individual needs; maintain attendance and progress records.
Partnership & signposting
: collaborate with schools, families and community partners to widen access; consider reasonable adjustments and assistive supports needed for participation.
Reflective practice & CPD
: engage with inclusive practice resources and equality learning offers; continually improve delivery through self?reflection and evidence?informed adaptations.
Qualifications
Coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential
Minimum of SFA Level 1.2 (Desireable) but will consider candiates with experience and no qualifications
HND/BSc Sports Coaching or similar field (Desireable) but will consider candiates with no qualification
PVG required for this role

Excellent communication skills
Ability to work well with individuals of all ages and skill levels
Able to effectively operate in a team to optimise provision of a service
High levels of confidence in your coaching ability to lead sessions and communicate with players and parents
A keen interest in coaching/sport science practices in relation to football
A keen interest in coach development
Full UK Driving license and access to a vehicle
