Independent Living Hub Assistant

This is a rewarding and varied role at the heart of our extra care and independent living services, supporting older and vulnerable residents to feel safe, supported and connected. You'll be the friendly face of the hub, helping residents with day-to-day enquiries, keeping our reception running smoothly, and providing essential administrative support that keeps the service moving.
About the Role
As an Independent Living Hub Assistant, you'll help ensure our hub offers a warm, responsive and professional service. You'll:
Welcome residents and visitors at reception, acting as the first point of contact
Handle phone, email and face-to-face enquiries with confidence, calmness and care
Support residents by logging repairs, arranging appointments and offering practical guidance
Maintain accurate records, profiling data and administrative systems
Assist with tenancy sign-ups, activity room bookings and support plan administration
Help coordinate scheme activities, events and promotional materials
Monitor door entry, CCTV and assistive technology systems
Carry out welfare checks and recognise when residents may need additional support
Work closely with coordinators, managers, contractors and partner agencies
Contribute to a "one team" culture that always puts customers first
The role combines customer service with meaningful day-to-day involvement in residents' lives -- making it a genuinely impactful position within our Independent Living community.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who brings warmth, professionalism and genuine care. You'll need:
Experience working in a customer-facing role
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication
Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
A calm, supportive approach -- especially when dealing with sensitive situations
Empathy for older and vulnerable residents
Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team
A flexible approach to working within a rota system
An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and GDPR
A commitment to equality, inclusion and excellent customer service
A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE level or equivalent) is required.
