The Role

We're looking for a qualified Independent Prescriber to join our clinical team at our Leicester premises. You'll be responsible for reviewing patient consultations, making prescribing decisions, and ensuring safe, appropriate treatment across multiple therapeutic areas including weight management, acid reflux, migraine relief, and other conditions.

This role offers flexibility: either 5 days part-time or 3 days full-time, with hours to suit your schedule.

Responsibilities

Review online patient consultations and medical questionnaires thoroughly and efficiently Make independent prescribing decisions across multiple clinical areas in line with guidelines and best practice Assess patient suitability for treatments including contraindications, drug interactions, and clinical appropriateness Communicate with patients via secure messaging to gather additional clinical information when required Escalate complex cases or refer patients to appropriate healthcare services where necessary Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records Contribute to the development and review of clinical protocols and patient group directions Stay current with developments in relevant therapeutic areas and prescribing guidance Participate in clinical governance activities including audits and incident reviews Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements

Essential

Registered healthcare professional (pharmacist, nurse, or paramedic) with the relevant UK regulatory body (GPhC, NMC, or HCPC) Valid Independent Prescriber qualification Current and unrestricted registration to practise in the UK Experience prescribing in weight management, including familiarity with GLP-1 receptor agonists Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills across multiple therapeutic areas Ability to work autonomously while knowing when to seek support Strong written communication skills Comfortable working with digital consultation platforms

Desirable

Previous experience in online or remote prescribing Background in primary care or community pharmacy with broad prescribing experience Experience with tirzepatide (Mounjaro) and semaglutide Prescribing experience in areas such as gastrointestinal conditions, migraine, or other common presentations Experience with clinical governance and quality improvement

Working Pattern

Choose the arrangement that works for you:

Option A:

5 days per week, part-time hours

Option B:

3 days per week, full-time hours
Specific days and hours are flexible and can be discussed at interview.

Pay: From 30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
