Tabla Restaurant is an award-winning Indian restaurant in Perth, Scotland, UK, boasting one AA Rosette.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced

Head Chef

to lead our kitchen team and deliver exceptional, high-quality dishes that reflect our commitment to authentic, flavourful cuisine. As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of the kitchen--from menu creation and staff management to stock control and hygiene compliance--ensuring smooth daily operations and a consistently outstanding food experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness Design and update menus in collaboration with the management team Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff Manage stock levels, supplier relationships, and food cost controls Enforce all health and safety, hygiene, and food safety regulations Work closely with front-of-house to ensure a seamless customer experience Monitor kitchen performance and implement improvements as needed Stay updated on food trends and customer preferences

Requirements:

Proven minimum of five years' experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a fast-paced kitchen Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations Experience with menu planning, costing, and stock control Culinary qualification or equivalent practical experience Ability to thrive under pressure and maintain high standards Passion for quality ingredients and culinary innovation Food Hygiene Level 3 certification (or willingness to obtain)
