Monday to Friday, with overtime and occasional call-outs (No Weekend work)
Job Overview
CWTS Scotland Ltd is a specialist renewable energy company working mainly on
small and medium-sized wind turbines
across the UK. Our work focuses on fault-finding, repair, maintenance, and life-extension of existing turbines, often where OEM support is limited.
This is a hands-on, field-based electrical role on the larger scale wind turbines we look after and would be suited to someone with a strong
industrial or maintenance electrical background
who enjoys diagnostics and problem-solving
Key Responsibilities
Electrical fault-finding on wind turbines and associated systems
Working with control panels, relays, contactors, timers, and safety circuits
Diagnosing faults on power supplies (24VDC / 110VAC / 230VAC)
Working with UPS systems, battery banks, and auxiliary supplies
Tracing faults through legacy or poorly documented systems
Carrying out repairs, upgrades, and recommissioning
Completing job reports and basic documentation
Working at height (full training provided)
Essential Requirements
Background as an industrial electrician or electrical maintenance engineer
Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working with control circuits and relay logic
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
Logical and methodical approach to fault-finding
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel, Work at heights and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Occasional staying away required depending on location of work
Desirable (Not Essential)
Experience in renewable energy or wind turbines
PLC fault-finding experience (not programming)
Experience with UPS or battery systems
HV/LV switching or isolation experience
Working at height or confined space experience
(All wind turbine-specific training will be provided.)
