Job summary




The Information Support Officer is a member of a small busy department, responsible to the Information Manager for the delivery of essential Information Hub (IHub) tasks which consist of but not inclusive of ensuring personnel are able to access IT systems, build and administer vital applications within each IT system and provide guidance and training to staff as required.


This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description




MAIN DUTIES:


Assist the Information Manager in the management, maintenance, configuration, and control for all documentation on all IT platforms, by undertaking the following tasks:


IHub Front Desk point of contact.


Support the Information Manager in carrying out their responsibilites.


Attendance at Information Management/IHub meetings.


Carryout Physical and Electronic document control.


The day-to-day administration of the shared working environment including:


a. Creation, maintenance and deletion of sites, workspace, libraries, and lists.


b. Creation of templates.


c. Records management.


Manage physical documents as appropriate in line with Standing Orders and Joint Service Publications.


Support and coach users in the exploitation of electronic capabilities.


Develop and manage support services to improve Electronic Ways of Working.


Any other reasonable duty relevant to grade as directed by the Line Manager.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.


External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
