Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join the Trust as an Infusion Nurse on a fixed term/secondment basis for 10 months, providing speciality care for patients with Crohns and Colitis. The infusion room offers a vital service to our patients by initiating and administering biologic s and other therapeutic medication to transform the lives of patients.



Assess the needs for patients receiving therapy and ensure all care is provide d .



Management of day unit appointments and scheduling with the support of the Senior nurse.



Providing emotional support to patients and families who are coping with long term chronic conditions, which have an impact on their daily lives .



Keeping patients and relatives fully always informed .



Maintaining accurate and up to date nursing documentation via the database and electronic patient record syste m .



Committed to providing a safe, high-quality service .



Work with professions allied to nursing to ensure a unified approach to Gastroenterology care .



Maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors .



Supporting senior members of nursing staff in the clinical area and deputising in their absence .

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of nursing care using a problem-solving approach to patients within the infusion suite . The post holder will be expected to carry out care without the need for direct supervision but will be supported by the senior IBD nurse.
