An opportunity has arisen within the Large Engine Business for an Inspection Cell Leader. The successful candidate will be based at our Kirkhill Facility, reporting to the Operations Supervisor. The primary function will be to organise and co-ordinate the various aspects of inspection work allocation/execution within the Engine Project.

An overview of your day
Ensure a high level of H&S and product quality through effective training and competency assessment of workshop personnel
Supervision of the Inspection team for project to ensure they are effective, engaged and meeting the required standards. This will include the early stages of performance management, coaching and development
Manage inspection priorities and delegate tasks in order to meet predetermined schedules
Leave detailed hand-over notes for incoming supervision and Cell Leader.
Carry out bench inspection and engine build checks as required
To ensure cyclic life details are correct and available for the Operations Supervisor to complete Engine Certification and Logbooks
To ensure that the correct standards of material handling are observed at all times
To ensure all measuring equipment is maintained in good working order and calibration checks are carried out on time. Ensure any deficiencies reported to the Senior Inspector / Operations Supervisor for action
Attend Scrap Reviews and MRB meetings, Reject Reviews and Post Inspection Meetings
What we need from you
Time served Mechanical Engineer / Inspector with a recognised Apprenticeship or National Certificate
Several years of experience in Gas Turbine environment preferred but not essential
Ability to read / understand technical drawings and specifications
Ability to translate technical requirements into operational instructions.
Ability to use a variety of measuring equipment
Computer literacy and experience in the use of applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook applications is essential.
