The national role is hosted by City of London Police and will support the NBCC Superintendent. The post will be based remotely although travel to London is expected when required, which will be paid for. Additionally, the post holder must be prepared to spend regular periods of time working nationally which will involve some travelling.

Key Objectives:
To support the NBCC Supt. in developing the national policing response to business crime with a strong focus on retail partnership working, protecting businesses from crime and staff from harm.
Raising standards of Police approach to businesses and promote mutually beneficial standards of engagement nationally
Improve partnerships with the business community to reduce the impact of crime.
Working with the Security Industry Authority and private security industry to develop partnership opportunities
Coordinate and improve national standards of police reporting and response to business crime
Disrupt organised business crime activity
Identify and address public vulnerability in businesses
Put prevention at the heart of all business engagement - through design, training, technology and the development of control strategies
Improve communication and intelligence sharing with the business community
Monitor force activity to drive improvement
Increase the protection of businesses as victims
Provide a repository of good practice and support to both public and police
Develop opportunities for businesses to support and tender sponsorship for the NBCC
Key responsibilities
Plan, manage and monitor industry driven activities in conjunction with managing competing demands and priorities to make informed deployment decisions and ensure best use of available resources
Lead, motivate and engage diverse teams of police officers and police staff, engaging with private sector to uphold professional standards
Contribute to the setting, monitoring and assessment of team key performance indicators (KPIs) to support the achievement of wider objectives
Directing and monitoring workloads in accordance with Home Office and Policing and priorities to provide an efficient and effective response to problems, incidents and crime
Work with partners to identify required policy and legislative changes
Analyse performance data and information against team objectives to report against performance management measures and inform workforce planning
Identify, manage and mitigate operational threats and risks in line with national guidance and operational policing plans to maximise the safety and wellbeing of officers, staff and the public
Develop and maintain relationships with business and multi-agency partners to drive collaboration and inform policing priorities and plans
Lead the analysis and evaluation of existing processes and practices within own area of work in order to identify and implement opportunities for change and innovation, promote best practice and enable continuous improvement evidence-based policing within teams
Essential Requirements

An understanding of business crime and the current policing challenges
