We are seeking a skilled and experienced ABB VSD (Variable Speed Drive) Service Engineer to join our dynamic team in Leeds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ABB VSD inverters across a variety of industrial and commercial applications. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, a strong understanding of ABB products, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform installation and commissioning of ABB VSD inverters in various industrial and commercial settings.
Ensure that installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
Maintenance and Repair:
Carry out routine maintenance and preventive servicing of ABB VSD inverters.
Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
Replace or repair components as necessary, ensuring the proper operation of equipment.
Technical Support:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting advice to customers, both on-site and remotely.
Assist customers with programming, parameter settings, and optimizing the performance of VSDs.
Customer Service:
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing prompt and professional service.
Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical issues and solutions.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate service records, including job reports, parts used, and customer feedback.
Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation as required.
Stay up to date with the latest ABB VSD technologies and industry trends.
Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven experience in servicing and maintaining inverters or similar equipment.
Strong understanding of VSD principles, electrical systems, and control systems.
Skills:
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Certifications:
Relevant industry certifications
Valid UK driving license.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel to customer sites within Leeds and the surrounding areas.
