Role title: Internal Audit Manager

Function: Audit, Risk and Assurance / CFO

Reports to: Head of Business Audit

Location: Colt House, London, UK (hybrid set up)

Role purpose

The Business Audit Manager is responsible for leading and delivering end to end reviews covering operational, financial and commercial audits across the Group, identifying control gaps and process improvements, and supporting UK SOX implementation at Colt. This is a hands on position which will provide the successful candidate autonomy, opportunity to add value and gain exposure to senior stakeholders.

Key accountabilities

  • Deliver and/or lead audit assignments across Colt locations in a timely and efficient manner, participating in all stages of the audit from planning, execution, reporting and follow-up.
  • Manage the delivery of a portfolio of audit assignments to a high quality in accordance with our audit methodology, within budget and agreed timelines.
  • Support key implementation activities arising from UK SOX.
  • Engage stakeholders to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the business under review, build trust and credibility with stakeholders throughout the audit process.
  • Develop and communicate meaningful value added audit findings and reports that provide clarity on the impact (root cause and risks) and inspire action from management.
  • Track and monitor management action plans to ensure sustainable resolution of control gaps and timely closure.
  • Build business partnerships with key stakeholders to assist them in embedding a robust control framework.
  • Support and contribute to the continuous improvement of the audit function through automation (e.g. implementation of audit tools, data analytics and risk/control monitoring).
  • Provide coaching to junior staff members (e.g. graduates/lead auditors) on audit methodology and practices. Manage and motivate them to deliver high quality work.

Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience
  • Experienced internal audit manager or senior internal auditor (minimum 6 years\' experience) who has worked in fast moving environments with immature/developing risk/control frameworks.
  • Ability to operate in a flat organisational structure with direct exposure to Executives.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of identifying, assessing and evaluating risks and controls, advising business stakeholders through providing insight and innovative commercial solutions, from a risk perspective, while understanding the commercial view.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage complex internal and external relationships demonstrating influence and a supportive style.
  • Ability to quickly understand and critically analyse complex IT processes, identify and assess potential risks and determine whether these risks are appropriately mitigated.
  • Educated to degree level or above (bachelors or masters) in Accounting, Finance or Business related subject.
  • Relevant post qualification in accounting (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and data analytics.
It is desirable:
  • International working experience.
  • Experience in technology services and telecommunications.
  • SOX experience is highly desirable.
