Group Internal Audit (GIA) provides independent assurance that we\xe2\x80\x99re achieving our objectives effectively and in the right way. Our remit is to provide assurance over compliance, operational, strategic, and technology risks and ensure they are being managed effectively. What you will do:

With a focus on the Alexion Rare Disease and spanning commercial, operations, R&D and enabling systems, you will work on teams of three to five people to deliver a complex and high-profile portfolio of audits. You will be required to quickly develop relationships and collaborate across management teams and should possess the ability to provide pragmatic internal control recommendations that protect and add value to the organization. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, working collaboratively within a diverse team, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

We will also look to you to innovate, including use of digital/ data-driven techniques to inform audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting and to drive impactful insights to the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Planning, managing, and executing audits, to effectively assess the internal control environment.

Performing and overseeing complex audit procedures that support the execution of the annual Internal Audit Plan; prepare work papers documenting the audit procedures performed that supports the audit conclusion.

Applying a systematic, risk-focused, disciplined, and balanced approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of processes, internal controls, risk management and governance processes.

Utilizing innovative techniques, including digital/ data-driven techniques to inform audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting and to drive impactful insights to the business.

Preparing insightful written reports and support the Internal Audit team in partnership with the business to verify that recommendations are implemented in a timely manner.

Contribute to wider GIA operational effectiveness initiatives, bringing ideas and enthusiasm to help the function achieve its strategy and objectives.

Promote high levels of ethical awareness within the organization.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

A relevant degree or postgraduate professional qualification.

Previous experience of auditing regulatory compliance frameworks within the life science sector, including evaluating compliance with anti-bribery policies and controls.

Strong project management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to build effective and long-standing partnerships across the organization at all levels, particularly with functional peers.

The ability to provide value added recommendations that will support the long-term growth of the business via process improvements that truly enhance the internal control environment.

The highest professional and personal standards, unquestioned integrity, and business ethics.

The ability to work effectively within diverse teams across different global locations to achieve objectives.

Flexible to support audits in other domain areas such as Finance, Operations and R&D.

Ability to undertake travel (potentially up to 20% of working days) to work on a range of audits.

Desirable:

Experience of using digital or data-driven auditing and visualization techniques to drive impactful insights.
