Cambridge, UK (hybrid working - minimum 1 day, ideally 2/3 days per week in Cambridge)

Full-time:

35 hours per week

Contract:

Open-ended

Salary:

32,000 - 35,000 per annum depending on skills/experience, plus competitive 12% pension benefit

Annual Leave:

25 days pro rata in year 1, increasing by 1 day p/a to 28 days

We are looking for an

Internal Communications Officer

to join our team. In this key role, you will help shape the voice of our global BirdLife Partnership - reaching thousands of dedicated individuals around the world.


Through compelling and purposeful messaging across all our internal communication channels, you will play a vital part in informing, inspiring, and uniting our diverse community, as we work towards a shared mission.

How you will do this:



Supporting the delivery of our internal communications strategy across the organisation

Being the main contact for internal communications questions and advice

Making the most of our channels to keep staff within BirdLife (Global Teams and BirdLife Partners) informed and engaged

Helping assess what's working and what's not in our internal messaging

Representing internal communications in projects and campaigns

Finding and sharing great stories from across our global BirdLife Partnership

Encouraging strong communication between teams and regions

Supporting newsletters, intranet, webinars, on-line updates and more

Rolling out internal campaigns in collaboration with other teams

Helping review and build communications skills across the BirdLife Partnership

Sharing Partner news to raise our profile

Managing external suppliers when needed to deliver communications materials


Ideally you will have:



The Essentials:

Internal communications experience and/or a relevant qualification. Excellent people and communication skills - whether that's in writing, face-to-face or online - with diverse stakeholders. A good understanding of global environmental and conservation issues Solid experience working in communications, especially writing and editing to tight deadlines. A talent for spotting a good story and turning it into engaging content quickly - before it's old news. A passion for nature, wildlife and the environment and high motivation for working in a conservation charity.
Some Nice to Haves:

Additional language skills.

Experience managing different communications channels like social media and intranet.

Some experience training others or helping to build communications skills within a team.
