Job Purpose



The primary responsibility is to effectively manage our full recruitment cycle, ensuring that we consistently meet our staff requirements. The position involves working with hiring managers and directors to directly resource support staff and trainee engineers into Spy Alarms. You will also manage our Preferred Supplier List of agencies to recruit top engineering talent for the business and work on other initiatives to refer talent into the business. You will manage the candidate experience and be involved in onboarding new hires into the business.

Key Responsibilities:



Work with the HR Manager and key stakeholders to proactively identify staffing needs and ensure that job descriptions remain commensurate with roles. Lead on resourcing, including writing and posting job adverts, circulating internal vacancies, working with preferred supplier agencies, promoting vacancies on our website and social media and running various campaigns such as "refer a friend" to boost talent acquisition for the Spy Group. Lead on recruiting, including screening candidates' CVs and assessing relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and aptitudes during the initial screening process by phone or Teams. Short-list candidates for face-to-face interviews with hiring managers including scheduling interviews and ensuring all parties have relevant information. Liaise with candidates and managers to obtain interview feedback and handle the recruitment process through to verbal offer and the onboarding process; providing feedback where appropriate to unsuccessful candidates. Update recruitment tracker with recruitment activity. Check for duplicate applications from agencies and maintain a fair and transparent process with suppliers. Support management in decision-making and act as the point of reference to ensure equity in the provision of interview scoring and assessments. Work with the wider HR team and hiring managers to ensure that the onboarding process runs smoothly, and that equipment or vehicles are ordered and allocated appropriately. Manage the Company website recruitment page ensuring it reflects our diverse workforce and culture. Manage the recruitment inbox as well as the day-to-day agency relationships and escalate any queries where necessary. Monitor and apply HR recruitment best practices including the Right to Work Act whilst ensuring EDI is applied and Spy company values are upheld. Report on and control advertising and recruitment costs and provide analytical and well-documented recruiting reports and metrics to the HR Director Maintain the Asset Register of equipment assigned to new hires and leavers. Provide cover for the first day Inductions at the Orpington office (flexibility required to cover mornings will be needed from time to time). Work to KPIs and maintain an adaptable approach. Provide support on other projects or activities as requested by the HR Director.

About you:



You should have demonstrable experience in business partnering with hiring managers as a recruiter. This should include managing medium volume recruitment campaigns and preferably some engineering recruitment experience. You should be able to build strong business relationships and provide good judgement and leadership in this role.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. You should also be proactive, adaptable, self-motivated and focused in your approach.

A sound knowledge of UK employment law and GDPR is essential, and you must be able to implement this effectively.

A commercial focus is also important to understand business requirements. You must be competent in the use of MS Office with the ability to produce various reports and presentations.

It is likely that you will live within a reasonable commute of Sidcup where the position is based and should be a car driver/owner to enable you to work in Orpington or other offices when the need arises.

Working hours are 20 per week. Preferably 1 pm to 5 pm Monday to Friday.

Car owner/driver required for travel to Orpington or other sites.
