We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Advisor to join our financial services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio. Responsibilities
Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organisations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
Offer strategic tax planning advice to optimise clients' financial positions and minimise liabilities.
Analyse financial statements and accounting records using specialised software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero.
Manage accounts payable processes and assist with financial accounting tasks related to taxation.
Conduct detailed analysis of clients' financial data to identify opportunities for savings or improvements.
Keep abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and advise clients accordingly.
Collaborate with clients to develop customised financial planning strategies aligned with their goals.
Utilise accounting software efficiently to maintain accurate records and generate reports as required.
Advise clients on international corporate transactions, tax structures, and regulatory compliance using knowledge from International Business Law and UK Banking Law.
Conduct regulatory and legal risk analysis for cross-border investment and commercial operations.
Support corporate clients with financial reporting, governance, and compliance obligations under UK and international law.
Prepare briefing notes, advisory reports, and compliance guidance for internal teams and clients.
Monitor changes in international tax treaties, banking regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and corporate governance rules.
Assist in structuring international deals and contracts to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with finance, tax, and accounting teams to ensure advisory services are compliant and aligned with client objectives.
Skills & Education
LLB (Bachelor of Laws) or equivalent
LLM in International Business Law, Commercial Law, or Banking Law
Additional qualifications in accounting, tax, or finance desirable but not essential
Proven experience in financial services, specialising in taxation or related fields.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero is essential.
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
Knowledge of tax legislation and compliance requirements within the UK context.
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally to clients.
Organised with strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks undertaken.
