As an International Trade Executive, you will play a crucial role facilitating International Trade services for both Devon and Cornwall. Whilst working within the Chamber's International Trade Team, your responsibilities will include processing export documentation, providing guidance to exporters, and ensuring a high standard of service. You will also support the administration of our British Chambers of Commerce accredited International Trade training programme.

This role is an integral part of the team and will be accountable for contributing to the overall success of the operations. Whilst working independently within the small, dedicated team to ensure all tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and to a high standard, it will also be essential to maintain meaningful and relevant communication with partners and with stakeholders. The Devon Chamber of Commerce is a membership organisation with a long history of supporting businesses of all sizes and sectors across Devon. Providing a range of member benefits, events, training and support to our members, comprising everything from small start-ups to major international corporate brands, the Chamber works in partnership across the public and private sector to make our area the best place in which to do business.

We are a small team passionate about delivering an exceptional service to our members and helping them to reach new markets both locally and across the globe.

The International Trade team at the Chamber delivers training, advice, and documentation services to a range of exporters. And the Chamber is entering an exciting period in its development with new members joining every week and an increase in businesses looking to export to new markets.

The Candidate

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated self-starter with a key focus on exemplary customer service and tight deadlines. Experience of working in an international trade environment such as supply chain, operations, logistics or customs processing would be beneficial but not essential. The ideal candidate will be someone with excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, along with superb interpersonal abilities. You should possess strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and Outlook, and have the capability to prioritise tasks effectively in a constantly evolving environment. Diplomacy, professionalism, and discretion are key, as your role will involve handling confidential information.

Your day-to-day tasks will be varied and engaging and you will act as a key stakeholder for International Trade services covering both Devon and Cornwall.

Hours and location:

Permanent, Full Time - 35 hours per week. Some flexible working may be possible.

Pay: 23,000.00-26,000.00 per year
